DAY 01 : HOTEL - MT.LOKON

Meet you in Manado or Tomohon, then transfer the tour participant to the starting point at Kakaskasen village. On arrival at parking point, short briefing and prepare all necessary to walking up about 1.5 hours to reach the Tompaluan crater. Walking through the volcanic stone, you must watch out your step to make sure that your foot is step not on the slippery point. You are not allow to stay overnights near the crater or at the starting point, at list you can do is taking pictures of the crater, Panorama of Tomohon city, Memorable photos, and then return dawn due to the Volcano is one of the most active volcano in North Sulawesi. Lokon Volcano

Lokon Volcano located in Tomohon, North Sulawesi, start raising the eruption phase last Saturday on 11:49 p.m. local time. The Tompaluan crater created column of volcanic ashes, which reached the nearst big city, the Manado. According to the officer of the Volcano Observatory post, the volcano spewed a column of ashes up to 1,300 meters high. The ash was  mostly blown by the wind to the northern and northeastern direction from the volcano.

The local residents which were affected by the eruption must get good gas-mask. The ash was covering many house from Manado city to Minahasa. It was also reprted that the eruption on last saturday had caused many flight delays at Sam Ratulangi Airport, Manado.  Thick volcanic ashes covered the airport and many jet engine, also the runaway.

There was no reports of fatalities or injuries on that eruption. This volcano is one of very active volcanoes as the part of Indonesia Ring of Fire. Locon has frequent volcanic activity. which is actually good for volcano study and eruption prediction. This volcano is also a good place for the volcano lovers.
